Tablescapes

ceramics for the table

Curated by Geogrāfica + Anagramma Studio in collaboration with Le Mole sul Farfa

Between craftsmanship and design

Modelling ceramics in an intentional way and shaping objects that tell stories and values, to transform your table into an aesthetic joy that fills your soul with beauty and harmony.

In this workshop, we will walk together through the process of creating ceramic pieces starting from the design idea, exploring techniques and materials, and selecting finishes and details of the hand-made objects.

With the guidance of ceramicist-designer Karla Sotres and architect-designer duo Ambra and Tea Scarsella, you will design and create your own personal set of 3 ceramic objects (plates, bowls and/or cups) to use on your everyday table.

An immersive, full-day workshop, held in 'Le Mole sul Farfa' agritourism, surrounded by rural Sabina hills nature and the generous hospitality of Elisabeth & Stefano.

The ceramic workshop in detail

During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to express your creative and aesthetic vision, experimenting with one or more techniques from slab, pinch and/or hand wheel pottery. You will  try different ceramic pastes of your choice between grès, terracotta and porcelain.

The workshop focuses on the ergonomics, utility, materials and finish of the pieces so that they can be used every day while satisfying the functional and experiential needs of a ceramic tableware service.

Tablescapes is a theoretical/practical workshop, ideal for beginners and beyond, creatives and lovers of ceramics and culinary culture. No prior knowledge of the subject is required.

The day will be marked by slow and pleasant rhythms, including a lunch break, coffee and snack carefully prepared by Elisabeth De Coster, cook and owner of Le Mole sul Farfa agritourism.
