Held and hosted by Le Mole sul Farfa with the partcipitation of Geografica

 

Four days of food, history, cooking and culture.

A seasonal cultural and vegetarian cooking retreat for foodies in the heart of the Sabine Hills, just outside Rome.

Meet like-minded people and enjoy a retreat with local food and wine, archaeological walks and stunning sunsets!

 

Brief

Date: From 16th to 20th October 2023

During: 4 days

Location: Agriturismo Le Mole sul Farfa. Strada delle mole 2, 02040 Mompeo (RI), Italia.

Exclusive: limited places, for lovers of food, nature and creative culture.

Cost: from 1700€

Includes:

  • 4 nights at Le Mole sul Farfa

  • all meals

  • 3 cooking classes, the pottery workshop, olive oil tasting, guided tours and entrances

  • transport for all the visits in the itinerary

  • transfer from the train station of Fara Sabina – Montelibretti to Mompeo

 

The itinerary

  • Thursday 16th - Relax, introduction. Welcome dinner at Le Mole.

  • Friday 17th - Kitchen workshop after breakfast. Tour at the Roman villa and visit of Mompeo in the afternoon, dinner at Le Mole.

  • Saturday 18th - Clay workshop with Karla Sotres and a sourdough bread demo. After lunch we head to Rieti, visit the underground Roman arches and finish the day with dinner at a typical trattoria.

  • Sunday 19th - Kitchen workshop in the morning. Walk to the Abbey of Farfa. We end the retreat with dinner at a farm restaurant.

Elisabeth De Coster - Le Mole sul Farfa

My love for Sabina and my desire to make this corner of peace my life, led me to move here from Belgium. Since 2008, I have been running our agriturismo 'Le Mole sul Farfa' with my husband Stefano. Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated by everything that goes on in the kitchen: I would watch my grandmother baking cakes, peek at my mother when she was preparing jams, participate in the preparation of a big family lunch... Unmistakable flavours and aromas that encapsulate memories that are still vivid. Today at the farm I take care of the reception, organise and prepare breakfasts and dinners. I use local and seasonal products. I like to seek out and enhance the flavours

Karla Sotres - Geogrãfica Ceramica

I am a Mexican designer and ceramist in progress. My work focuses on the relationship between design and territories, as well as the registration and analysis of different individual or collective creative processes. My aesthetic research starts from any context and follows the principles of slow design. In 2014, I moved between the Sabine countryside and Umbria and made my home in Montebuono my workshop: this is where I follow the process of creation, teach and share my path, co-organise community projects and dedicate myself to my family.I chose the way of the earth because I believe it is an honest, sustainable approach of care, slowness and kindness.
